Something To Shout About

Supporting Scottish women’s football with something a bit different

“We’re just us. We’re not trying to be Sportscene or Match Of The Day.
I’m not Eilidh Barbour and he’s not Julie Fleeting…”

Something To Shout About is a video blog by Ali & Rob, two committed supporters of women’s football who want to try and make a difference for clubs and players in the Scottish Women’s Football national and regional league pyramid.

We have been actively involved in women’s football for several seasons, as club and player sponsors, volunteers, dedicated supporters and more in the Scottish Women’s Premier League and the English Women’s Championship.

Here at STSA, we do things differently. This isn’t your typical fitba blog. Nobody needs more armchair/terrace critics.

More than performances, results and league tables, we want to highlight the benefits that SWF clubs bring to their players, staff and communities, the challenges they face and the hard work of an inevitably small number of very dedicated people throughout Scotland.

We bring open-hearted support, down to earth honesty, wry humour, originality, integrity, occasional raised eyebrows, a willingness to kick the odd ivory tower and, through it all, only wanting women’s football to succeed.

We will never ask for (or expect) any freebies, including admission to games, food, drink, travel, souvenirs or give coverage to the highest bidder. This is on us, purely for our love of the game and admiration for the people within it.

Many thanks to all the clubs, staff and players who have given us their time and gone out of their way to be so welcoming and to Scottish Women’s Football for their support.

By the way, Something To Shout About not only sums up our opinion of Scottish women’s football, it was the title of Lulu’s first album. As a well-known, very successful Scottish woman, it seems appropriate.
